UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced his intention to make the country a world leader in AI.
What else is known
The plan includes the creation of special zones for data centers, accelerating their construction and supporting graduates who choose technological directions.
According to the government, the full implementation of AI could increase productivity by 1.5% per year, which would bring additional income to the economy in the amount of £47 billion sterling every year for 10 years.
The first data centre will be built in Culham, Oxfordshire, home to the UK Atomic Energy Agency, and also in Oxfordshire. However, Starmer's plans aim to strengthen the country's position through more proactive measures, such as implementing all the recommendations of the report “AI Capabilities Action Plan”.
