At the end of September 2020, the trading volume in the main trading mode in securities of foreign issuers on the St. Petersburg Exchange amounted to $ 18.1 billion, which is 19.3% more than in August ($ 15.2 billion). The total value of transactions reached $ 22.7 billion ($ 19.61 billion in August), according to a press release from the exchange.
The average daily trading volume in the Main Trading Mode in September increased by 19% compared to August and reached $ 863.2 million. The number of transactions in the Main Trading Mode in the reporting month amounted to 17.7 million, having increased by 12% compared to August.
By the end of September, new records of customer activity were recorded. The number of active accounts increased by 10.3% compared to August and amounted to 405 thousand. The number of accounts with positions in securities increased by 10.9% compared to August, reaching 539.8 thousand.
As of September 30, 5.8 million client accounts admitted to trading were registered on the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange, which is 8% more than a month earlier (5.37 million in August). Of these, 3.97 million unique accounts – 7.5% more than a month earlier (3.69 million in August).
Transactions in September were concluded with 1,372 foreign securities.
The share of trading volume in securities included in the S&P 500 index in the trading volume (in the Main Trading Mode) was 50.65%.
