The trailer of the documentary “You have to fight for your freedom” about the legendary warrior Dmitry “Da Vinci” Kotsyubail has been released. The premiere in Ukrainian cinemas will take place on September 19.

The film “Da Vinci” is a story about the outstanding Ukrainian soldier and freedom fighter Dmytro Kotsyubail, who, having gone through all the dangers of the revolution on the Maidan, as an 18-year-old boy, went to the front to defend the country from the Russians.

Dmytro spent 9 years at warbecame a legendary commander, who in his courage and dedication served as an example for many comrades. The film aims not only to tell in detail the life story of the great warrior, but also to explore the evolution of his formation as a patriot and defender.

In this documentary, his memories Da Vinci was shared by his relatives, friends and brothers:

  • Oksana Kotsyubailo's mother,
  • Maryana Kotsyubailo's sister,
  • fiancee and head of the medical service ULF battalion Da Vinci Wolves Alina Mykhaylova,
  • Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ( 2021-2024) Valery Zaluzhnyi,
  • battalion commander Da Vinci WolvesSerhiy Filimonov, and other comrades who fought side by side first during the ATO, and then during the full-scale Russian offensive.

However, the film will be stolen not only from interviews, but also from archive materials and a unique chronicle, with the participation of Dmytro, which has not yet been published on the network. These are frames from a GoPro body camera, which was on Da Vinci's helmet.

The film was directed by Volodymyr Sydko, screenwriter and director-director of the full-length feature film “The Path of Generations” ( 2021).
