The touch screen on the smartphone does not work: how to fix the situation

Smartphone touchscreen not working: How to fix it

When the touchscreen stops responding to touches, it can quickly become frustrating, especially if you need to use your smartphone right now. Fortunately, this isn't always a sign that your phone is broken and there are a few steps you can take to fix the problem yourself.

After all, if it is obvious that it is impossible to do without repair, it is better to immediately take the smartphone to the service center. However, if everything should work and it doesn't, Techno 24 recommends trying a few tips first that might help you.

Often, the simplest solution is the most effective. Rebooting the device – this is the first step in solving an unresponsive touchscreen problem.

A reboot can fix any temporary glitches in the system, restart its internal processes, and possibly fix sensor functionality. This simple solution is a great starting point before moving on to more complex options.

If restarting doesn't fix the problem, there are a few more steps you can take to try to restore the functionality of the touchscreen. These solutions range from simple cleaning methods to more complex troubleshooting methods.

  1. Cleaning the touch screen and protective coating

Dirty screen or a damaged protective film may prevent the touchscreen from working properly. To fix this:

  • Wash your hands to avoid getting dirt on the screen.
  • Wipe the screen with a dry or slightly damp lint-free cloth.
  • Remove the protective film, as dirt trapped under it or a damaged film may affect the sensitivity of the screen. After removal, clean the screen if necessary.
  1. Dry the device

If on water or other liquid has fallen into the smartphone, this can cause unstable operation of the sensor: the smartphone device may not respond to touches, or randomly switch applications. In this case, it is enough to block the smartphone screen and wipe or dry it.

  1. Enable safe mode

If a recently downloaded app is causing the problem, restarting your device in safe mode (when no third-party apps are loaded) can help you identify the problematic software. If the touchscreen works in safe mode, uninstall the apps starting with the most recent ones.

Only if after you have tried all the options and none of them solve your problem, it is time to send the smartphone in for repair. However, often problems with the sensitivity of the touchscreen are temporary or caused by factors that can be solved.
