The technical characteristics of the newest Romanian IAR-330L's newest Romanian combat helicopter

Iar Brașov is engaged in production, and the update is carried out within the framework of the large -scale modernization program of the country's air fleet. < p >In the first stage of modernization, the helicopter was equipped with Brightnite night vision systems from the Israeli company Elbit Systems, as well as the latest avionic. The second stage involved the installation of the SPECTRO XR electro -optic station, which provides multi -spectric surveillance day and night and can work even in difficult weather conditions. This system is equipped with a laser rangefinder, an automatic tracking function and artificial intelligence for image processing.

< P > In addition, updated Iar-330L will receive modern radio electronic fighting systems that increase their survivability in combat conditions. The Romanian Air Force emphasizes that this modernization takes into account combat experience, as well as operational needs formed in accordance with current threats.

< P > In addition, Romania continues to cooperate with the Allies to strengthen its air park. It has recently become known that Portugal has handed over eight SA-330 helicopters to Ukraine. These helicopters, equipped with modern fire control systems and radars, can launch anti -ship missiles ExOCET, which makes them a valuable complement to the Ukrainian military arsenal.
