The US military is actively exploring the possibility of launching Uvision Hero 120 barrage munitions from C-130 military transport aircraft in the air. The technology, which offers significant advantages in dynamic combat environments, will allow the military to respond quickly to threats by quickly adjusting mission parameters in real time, Army INFORM writes.
Using air platforms such as the C-130 to deploy such ammunition can significantly increase the efficiency of operations and minimize risks for ground personnel.
Uvision Hero 120 — is a kamikaze drone that can be launched from a variety of platforms, including ground installations and warships. However, using it from the air will give it additional flexibility and allow it to neutralize targets far beyond the range of ground launch systems. The drone's 3.5 kg warhead is equipped with a multi-purpose warhead that can be adapted to engage different types of targets, from infantry to armored vehicles.
The use of barrage munitions from C-130 aircraft also provides an element of surprise and coverage of operations, thereby reducing the probability of detection of drones by the enemy. Although this concept is still in its early stages of development, its successful implementation could significantly enhance US military capabilities, ushering in a new era of warfare where accuracy and adaptability play a key role.
