The Polish company Zakłady Mechaniczne «Tarnów» jointly with the Warsaw Military University of Technology (WAT) has developed a modern system for combating unmanned aerial vehicles called System Zwalczania Dronów.
The system is designed to protect against nano- and microdrones, as well as other small aerial vehicles objects. According to the developers, it is also “ideally suitable” for the protection of critical infrastructure, reports Army Inform.
The basis of the system is a multi-barrel WLKM 12.7 mm Gatling machine gun, which effectively hits targets at a distance of up to 2 km. The system can operate in manual, semi-automatic and automatic modes, providing flexibility and precision during operations. It can be installed both on stationary objects and on mobile platforms and sea vessels.

The powerful machine gun can fire at a rate of 250 to 3600 shots per minute, which makes it effective against various types of targets.
«System Zwalczania Dronów passed a series of tests and has become a reliable solution for modern military operations, providing protection against drones and reliability on the battlefield», — summarized the developers.
