Pakistan successfully conducted testing of a new ballistic missile called SMASH property development, to equip the navy.

It is noted that the missile is capable of hitting both land and sea targets at a distance of up to 350 km. The missile is launched from an inclined installation, after which the missile changes its direction to a vertical one in flight. During the test launch, which was demonstrated in the video, the missile was without a warhead and hit the target.

The test was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Navy Admiral Naveed Ashraf, as well as senior officers navy, scientists and engineers.

The identity of the launch ship has not been officially confirmed, but journalists “Military” assume that it was a Zulfiquar-class frigate — one of four combat units of the Pakistan Navy built on the base of the Chinese Type 053H3.

The frigates of this class (PNS Zulfiquar, PNS Shamsheer, PNS Saif and PNS Aslat) are usually equipped with Chinese anti-ship missiles C-802, installed in inclined launchers, but whether changes have been made in the control system or the design of the guides for launching the new missile is currently unknown.
