Valencia (Spain) – Czech tennis players will not face one of the world's best players, Carlos Alcaraz, in the group stage of the Davis Cup final tournament next week. The Spanish Federation announced today on its official website that the 20-year-old tennis player will be replaced by Albert Ramos, who is fifteen years older.
The Spanish tennis players will be the first opponent of the Czech team in Group C in Valencia on Wednesday. Captain Jaroslav Navrátil's men will face Korea the next day and finally challenge Serbia on Saturday, whose nomination also includes star Novak Djokovic. The top two teams will advance to November's Final 8, which will be hosted by Málaga.
Alcaraz bowed out of the Davis Cup hours after losing to Russia's Daniil Medvedev in the US Open semifinals.
