The Russian Orthodox Church does not exclude the possibility of creating a new religious object in Moscow, which will take the place of the mausoleum of Vladimir Lenin. The building is located on Red Square.

Leonid Kalinin, representing one of the expert councils, spoke on this matter. On the air for “Moscow speaking” the latter gave a comment on the competition, which involves the collection of options for re-using the mausoleum. At the same time, the topic remains outside the competence of the Russian Orthodox Church. This will change only if they approve the decision to create a church object on the site of the mausoleum, right up to the chapel. At the same time, Kalinin doubts that the status of the building can be changed so radically.
Earlier it was reported that the acceptance of applications for the corresponding competition will continue until October 19, while the official winners will be named closer to mid-November.
