The Russian Foreign Ministry advised citizens to refrain from traveling to Estonia

On Tuesday, On June 28, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation published a warning for Russian citizens with a recommendation to refrain from traveling to Estonia in connection “with the openly hostile attitude of this country towards Russian citizens”.

The reason for the publication of this warning was the introduction from July 10 of a ban on the import of a number of goods into this country from Russia, as well as the export of goods to Russia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation states that the Tax and Customs Department of Estonia, which introduced this ban, used “general sanctions” as a pretext for an openly hostile step.

Russians are prohibited from taking out of Estonia not only strategic dual-use goods, but also bags, shoes, electronics, the value of which exceeds 750 euros, as well as cash currency banknotes. For violation of the ban, both a fine and a prison term are provided – up to 3 years for one person and up to 5 years for a group of people.
