In recent days the leadership of Armenia made "a series of unfriendly steps" regarding Russia, which is why the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation summoned the ambassador of Armenia in Moscow, Vagarshak Harutyunyan, who was given a “severe presentation”. This is reported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rodrobnosti reports.
The Russian Ministry lists "unfriendly steps" Yerevan:
- launch of the process of ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (which issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin for kidnapping Ukrainian children);
- trip to Kyiv by the wife of the prime minister – Minister of Armenia Anna Hakobyan with the transfer of humanitarian aid to the "Kyiv Nazi regime";
- conducting military exercises on the territory of Armenia with the participation of the USA.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also sent the ambassador a note of protest , which refers to the "inadmissibility of offensive statements" the Speaker of the Parliament of Armenia, Olena Simonyan, to the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova. On September 6, Simonyan called Zakharova "some secretary of some department".
On September 6, Nikol Pashinyan's wife, Hanna Hakobyan, attended the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen, organized wife of the President of Ukraine Olena Zelenska in Kyiv.
The Prime Minister's wife handed over humanitarian aid to Ukraine. This is the first humanitarian aid that Armenia has provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion. Ambassador of Ukraine Olexandr Senchenko.
