On August 29, Prime Video will begin streaming the long-awaited second season of Rings of Power, which fans have been eagerly awaiting for months. Several characters will make their big comeback, like Galadriel, more badass than ever with her Ring, or Arondir, while new protagonists will enter the ring… Including some new creatures.

unknown species of hobbits will land in The Rings of Power

Despite a first season judged too slow by the spectators, The Rings of Powerreturns for a second season that promises to be more rhythmic. In addition to this ultra bloody battle teased by the showrunners, Patrick McKay and Charlotte Brändström, new characters will appear on screen, and with them, new challenges. Enough to pique the interest of the public, in whose eyes the beginnings of the Amazon series sometimes seemed soporific… According to Entertainment Weekly, the arrival of another species of ancestors of Hobbit has been confirmed, that of the  Fortauds, which you already knew without knowing it. Indeed, Gollum, the famous hungry creature of the trilogy of Peter Jackson, comes from this branch.

The Rings of Power season 2: these new creatures should finally arrive

The Hobbits come from three groups of ancestors. The Piévelus, whom we met in season 1 of the Rings of Power, the Fortauds, officially in the cast of the second season, and the Peaublemes. While the presence of the Blighted Skins in the series has not been confirmed, the introduction of the Fortauds makes their arrival logical, in order to include all the ancestors of the Hobbits. Perhaps this will not be the case until the third season, but the explicit desire of the Amazon series to establish a link with the history of The Lord of the Rings thanks to the Hobbits leaves little room for doubt. And this, although these small creatures do not have a very important role during the Second Age…
