On September 21, Ukraine managed to free 215 people from Russian captivity, including 108 Azov fighters, including 5 commanders from Azovstal. As part of the exchange, Viktor Medvedchuk and 55 occupiers were handed over to Russia.

“Today we managed to free 215 of our people from Russian captivity, including 124 officers. This is the strongest result that we have achieved since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia,” — Yermak said.

He noted that among the released soldiers — 108 fighters of the “Azov” regiment.

According to the head of the OP, 200 Ukrainian military men were exchanged for Putin's godfather Viktor Medvedchuk, who “has already given all possible evidence to the investigation.” And five commanders from Azovstal exchanged for 55 Russian prisoners “of no interest to us.”

Yermak also said that the five commanders released from captivity are now in Turkey under the protection and security guarantees of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that they will remain in Turkey until the end of the war.

Also among the released —10 foreigners who fought for Ukraine, who were threatened with execution. These are, in particular, representatives of the United States, Great Britain, Croatia and Sweden. are located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
