Priests revealed how much they collected during this year's Christmas caroling.

As the „Goniec” portal reminds us, the period of pastoral visits popularly called Christmas carols is coming to an end. The priests decided to share some surprising information. They revealed how much they managed to collect after the carol. They were paid not only in Polish currency.

What is the money from the carol spent on?

Some parishes in Poland have already finished their Christmas carol visits. In some of them, they are coming to an end. One of the elements that arouses a lot of emotion are the donations given by the faithful during the carol. Although not all priests want to share information about the amounts collected, there are some who do not make it a big secret.

Honesty does not only concern the amounts collected, but also information about what they will be used for. Fr. Sebastian Picur, popular on the Internet, explained what the funds from the carol are used for. „The money from the envelopes is most often used for: construction, renovation, equipment, maintenance of the parish church”.

Other purposes for which money collected during the carol is allocated include “pastoral needs of parishes, dioceses”, “works of mercy”, or “gifts for service”.

Priests summarize this year's Christmas carol

Although some parishes decided to introduce „carols without an envelope”, some still maintain this tradition. Some of the priests share how much they collected during the carols. This is what the priest from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima Zakopane-Krzept&wki did. In total, they managed to collect 43 thousand. PLN and 100 euros.

The collected amount was also shared by priests from the parish of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Siedlce. Here, they managed to collect PLN 210,000. According to a statement issued by the parish, they will be allocated to „planned work in the parish”.

As reported by the „Goniec” service, the clergy from the parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Stoczek Łukowski managed to collect PLN 199.7 thousand during the Christmas caroling. zł.
