On November 5, a pre-premiere screening of the feature-length dramatic film “Bucha” took place in Kyiv. The plot is based on the real story of a volunteer, a citizen of Kazakhstan, Kostyantyn Gudauskas.

The film “Bucha” can be seen in Ukrainian cinemas as early as November 7.

Kostyantyn Gudauskas emphasizes that it is important not to stop fighting and helping each other.

Kostyantyn Gudauskas is a citizen of Kazakhstan who has been living in Ukraine since 2021. It was the Kazakh passport that helped him overcome Russian roadblocks and evacuate people. During the Russian occupation of Kyiv region in the spring of 2022, he saved more than 200 civilians, including the family of Ukrainian composer Ihor Poklad, the organizers said.

The first to see the film were: Kostyantyn Gudauskas, residents of the liberated Buchi, Irpen, and Vorzel, military personnel and volunteers, as well as Olympic champion Zhan Beleniuk, actors Andriy Isayenko, Yuri Veliky, Stepan Kazanin, musicians Sasha Koltsova (Kryhitka band), Anna Zavalska, hosts Solomiya Vitvitska, Volodymyr Ostapchuk and many others.

“Bucha” is not just a film, it is a deep study of the courage and unity of Ukrainians during the war. The purpose of the film is, in particular, to emphasize the power of love, stability and care, to remind of the importance of unity in overcoming collective trauma, the authors of the film note.

The film carefully guides the viewer through difficult events known to all,trying to avoid retraumatic scenes. For this purpose, psychologists were present on the set. The team was also assisted in filming by the Main Directorate of Intelligence, advising the crew, providing materials and military equipment.

Ukraine, in its stability, courage and unity, has become an example for the whole world. “Bucha” illuminates not only the evil that we faced, but also the light that Ukraine has become. Preservation of this light for future generations is an urgent task of today, the authors of the film emphasize.

Olga, daughter of Iryna Filkina, was also present in the hall, it was the photo of her hand with red varnish that became one of the symbols of the Buchi tragedy.

This movie shows true human nature. And now we Ukrainians really need him. Unfortunately, all the good that united us then against the enemy is now being forgotten, and it is driving us apart. But if each person thinks not only about what has been experienced, but also about his and our common future – we will win this war, – says Olga.

The main role in the film was performed by the famous Polish theater and film actor Cezary Lukaszewicz. Vyacheslav Dovzhenko, Artemiy Egorov, Serhii Strelnikov, Oleksandr Pecheritsa, Anastasia Nesterenko, Nikon Fedotov, Serhii Smiyan, Tetiana Vashnevska and others also played roles in the film. The director of the film is Stanislav Tiunov, the screenwriter and producer is Oleksandr Shchur.

The film “Bucha” was shot without the involvement of state funding, only with donations and private funds of caring people from Ukraine, Poland, Canada and the USA.

The music for the film was composed by the Azerbaijani composer and producer, Eurovision winner Isa Melikov. The author of the official soundtrack “April” was the Ukrainian musician Roman Baharev and the band BAH.ROMA.
