The Oncilla-Shturm armored personnel carrier will be in service with the Armed Forces: what is known about the weapon

The Polish-Ukrainian development of the Oncilla APC was created for special forces of the Defense Forces and police, light infantry and units for peacekeeping missions. The main armament of the Oncilla is a guided module with a large-caliber NSVT machine gun.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has allowed the armored vehicle to be put into operation to perform a wide range of combat missions. This was reported on the website of the press service of the department on Wednesday, November 27.

The armored personnel carrier is designed for three soldiers and six gunners. The armored vehicle has an automatic transmission and a turbodiesel engine. Hence the high running and speed characteristics of the armored personnel carrier. The fuel reserve is designed for 700 kilometers.

The standard equipment of the armored personnel carrier includes an automatic tire inflation system, hydraulic power steering, air conditioning with additional heating function, fire extinguishing system, ventilation system, winch. Armament — remotely controlled combat module with a large-caliber machine gun. The armored personnel carrier is produced in several modifications.

Armament of the Oncilla APC

The Polish-Ukrainian Oncilla APC was developed for special forces of the Armed Forces and police, light infantry and units for peacekeeping missions. The Polish side is involved in the production of the company Mista Sp. z o.o.

The main armament of the Oncilla is a remotely controlled combat module with a large-caliber NSVT machine gun and guidance servos. The module is controlled by a joystick with a safety catch, and one-handed control is allowed. The sighting and observation system of the combat module includes a thermal imager and a ten-fold television camera.
