< p>Occupiers seized the Zaporozhye iron ore plant last week. If the pumping stations at the plant stop pumping water, this can lead to serious consequences.

This was announced by the head of the Zaporizhzhya OVA Oleksandr Starukh on the air of the telethon.

Starukh noted that the plant was not working, but this is the only enterprise in Ukraine that extracts iron ore from a depth of 1 kilometer.

"If pumping stations do not work and pump out water, then in a week the water from 1 kilometer will rise to the mark -30, and this can have serious consequences: contamination of surface waters and horizons with iron ore,” – he said.

The head of the IVA said that a commission had already been convened to study the situation and make appropriate decisions.
