The number of new cases of COVID-19 in the Russian Federation per day exceeded 6 thousand

The daily increase in new cases of coronavirus infection in Russia amounted to 6065 cases, this is the highest figure since the end of July, 144 people died per day, follows from the data of the operational headquarters, released on Saturday.

Over the past day in Russia, confirmed cases of a new coronavirus infection COVID-19 – 6,065 in 84 regions, including 1460 (24.1%) actively detected without clinical manifestations, the headquarters said.

The day before, 5,905 cases were detected in Russia, before that – 5792, on September 16 – 5670 cases. The growth in cases has been recorded since the beginning of this week. Before that, starting from September 4, the number of detected cases per day fluctuated in values from 5 thousand to 5.5 thousand.

In the Russian Federation, on a cumulative total, 1,097,251 cases (+ 0.5%) of coronavirus infection were registered in 85 regions, over the entire period in Russia, 19,339 people died. The number of those discharged was 906 462 people, including 5 255 were discharged in the last day.

In Moscow, over the past 24 hours, 825 cases of COVID-19 have been identified, 11 people have died, 919 have been discharged to recover.

According to the operational headquarters, another 212 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in St. Petersburg, 180 – in the Rostov region, 175 – in the Moscow region, 164 – in the Nizhny Novgorod region, 151 – in the Voronezh region, 139 – in the Stavropol Territory, 135 – in the Kemerovo region, 125 – in the Sverdlovsk region, 121 cases in the Ulyanovsk region, 115 – in the Samara region, 110 – in the Saratov region, 101 cases were detected in the Krasnoyarsk region. In other regions of Russia, the daily increase over the past day was less than 100 cases.

According to the data of the headquarters on mortality, 28 patients died per day in St. Petersburg, nine – in the Samara region, eight – in the Sverdlovsk region, six deaths each in the Krasnodar region, Moscow, Omsk and Rostov regions, five – in Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, regions, in Dagestan and in the Stavropol Territory. Four deaths were recorded in the Tver region and in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, three each in Udmurtia, in the Novosibirsk and Chelyabinsk regions, as well as in Yakutia. In other regions, the number of deaths did not exceed one or two cases.
