The new antenna will improve signal transmission for 6G networks

Scientists from the City University of Hong Kong have developed a new antenna that can simultaneously transmit multiple signals and control their frequencies through software. This discovery will be an important step in the development of sixth-generation (6G) networks.

The new technology was described in the journal Nature Communications. The scientists proposed the concept of an antenna using a «synthetic moving shell». It allows you to create and control harmonic signal frequencies simultaneously, which was previously impossible.

A feature of this antenna is its ability to transmit multiple signals in different directions at once, significantly increasing the bandwidth of communication channels. In addition, the technology improves the integration of data transmission and sensor control functions, which is important for 6G networks.

The scientists noted that the new approach to antenna development opens up prospects for communication systems, cognitive radars and quantum technologies with a high degree of protection.
