Thor Industries featured a cool motor home/Motor1
One of the main problems with long cross-country trips is how often you need to refuel – and how expensive it can be. Even with massive fuel tanks, a traditional motorhome or RV can only travel 160 kilometers on 37.8 liters.
But Thor Industries wants to make your trip more efficient with its hybrid motorhome, which is connected to the mains. This is written by the publication Motor1.
The Thor Test Vehicle is still just a prototype, but the company is calling it the world's first Class A hybrid motorhome. But it's not a traditional hybrid. The Thor uses Harbinger Motors' “series hybrid” platform with a 140.0 kilowatt-hour battery pack, a gasoline range extender (as opposed to a traditional gas engine driving the wheels), and a solar roof. The range of one battery is 240 kilometers, and the combined installation provides 800 kilometers on one refueling.

It even features bi-directional V2L chargingin the reverse direction, which can serve as a backup power source for your home.
Thor also does not specify how long the gas range is, but the company promises excellent acceleration and torque from the hybrid setup. According to Thor Industries, ithas “twice the torque of a diesel engine.” Under the body is a front suspension with a double wishbone and a steering system, and the standard equipment includes many active safety systems.
As already mentioned, this is only a prototype. But Airstream's parent company hopes to have its ultra-efficient RV on the road and in production as early as next year.
