Brazilian football player Dani Alves is accused of sexual assault in Spain, the complaint was received by the Catalan police on January 2. This is reported by the Spanish newspaper Marca.

Alves is in custody without bail in Barcelona, ​​he may face from one to 12 years in prison. On January 21, the Mexican club Pumas, in which he played since July 2022, terminated the agreement with the football player. 

A source close to the investigation told AFP that the woman accuses the football player of rape and repeated her accusation before the judge on Friday, January 20. 

Spanish media write that the alleged sexual violence occurred in a popular nightclub in Barcelona on the night of 30 to 31 December.
