Apple wants to polish the frame of its future flagships. This approach has already been used in past models.
According to an insider from MacRumors, in the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models, the manufacturer decided to return to the glossy polished edges of the case, abandoning the matte ones. For this, Apple will improve the production process and start polishing the titanium to a glossy state – it is believed that the glossy frame will make the appearance of smartphones more refined.
Apple used polished steel in the production of iPhone Pro models from the 12th to the 14th generation. During this time, it became clear that such a frame gets smudged very easily and slides unpleasantly in the hands, and also collects scratches very easily and quickly. Even if you use a case, the frame is scratched even by it. Matte metal, which Apple is now going to abandon in the 16th generation iPhone Pro, is devoid of all these annoying flaws.
