The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is testing a lightweight model of a bulletproof vest

bulletproof vest is distinguished by lightness of construction, mobility and convenience for performing maneuver actions during assault and special operations.

The model has already been tested at the intelligence school of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and received positive feedback. Currently, the last stage is underway — laboratory tests.

«We understand the importance of equipment weight for combat missions, especially for special forces and attack aircraft. In the work on the lightweight body armor, every centimeter and every gram of the product was taken into account. We are waiting for the positive results of the final tests, because this armor is very necessary in the units», — noted Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov.

The new bulletproof vest is made of reinforced ceramic composite materials, which provides 6th class protection. The grid size ranges from S to XL in two configurations, with weights ranging from 7.5kg to 12kg, compared to 10.5kg to 17.5kg in the modular models.

The bulletproof vest features a quick release and can be equipped with additional elements: neck and shoulder protection, shoulder pads, groin protection, tactical unloading belt, coccyx protection, hip protection and elements to ensure buoyancy. Special anatomical pads are provided for women.

The product also contains separate pockets for soft and hard ballistic protection and removable damping tabs.

After completion of laboratory tests, the body armor will be handed over to the Armed Forces.
