It was written on the site of the Ministry of Defense.

Type tests are an important stage in  in the process of evaluating the effectiveness of changes made to the design or manufacturing technology of serial products. They are conducted in order to assess the impact of changes on the technical and tactical operational characteristics of the product.

Tests are carried out on samples of OVT, in the design or technology of which the proposed changes have already been made. The scope of such tests is determined by the program and methods developed by the manufacturer in accordance with DSTU V 15.211.

Typical tests can be conducted both at test bases of the manufacturers themselves, and at specialized testing organizations, such as State Research Institute tests and certification of weapons and military equipment, or at enterprises with the appropriate test base.

The results of the tests are recorded in the form of the Act and the protocols, which reflect all the results of the tests. If the results confirm the effectiveness of the changes, they are entered into the working design documentation in accordance with DSTU V 15.902. To register changes in the technical conditions on the OVT sample, it is necessary to contact the Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and military equipment via e-mail mdalc@mil.ua.
