Two servicemen of one of the units of the Russian Baltic Fleet, who are suspected of washing shoes in a holy spring near an Orthodox church in Kaliningrad, became defendants in a criminal case. Such data are presented in the publication of the Interfax agency with reference to its own sources in the military prosecutor's office.

According to the agency's source, a case was opened against the servicemen under Part 1 of Art. 148 of the Criminal Code, in other words, the defendants in this case are accused of publicly expressing disrespect for society and insulting the feelings of believers. Among other things, it is noted that one of the authors of the scandalous video in a Kaliningrad church is doing military service in the navy, and the other is a contract soldier. It is also specified that both servicemen are natives of Dagestan.
It is worth recalling that on September 14, a video was published on the Web in which men laugh and wash their shoes in a holy Orthodox source. “For them, this is holy water, but we are washing our feet,” says the hero of this video.
Later, one of the participants in the video publicly apologized for the incident.
