In 2020, the ball costume Institute, which until recently did not want to give up under the onslaught of coronavirus infection COVID-19, will be held.
The event was planned, as usual, on the first Monday of may. However, due to the “global crisis in the health sector” the ball may take at the end of the summer.
The theme of the Met Gala — 2020 sounded like a About Time: Fashion and Duration and was to be dedicated to the concept of interaction of time and fashion. The exhibition of the costume Institute it was planned to show the centennial history of fashion, including things Alaia, Vionnet, Poiret, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Alexander McQueen and others.
All public events are prohibited in the Museum until January.
The next ball costume Institute will be held in 2021, and it will be a different theme, suitable following the exhibition of the Museum.
