“Some NATO countries are wary of sending heavy weapons as they hope for a negotiated ceasefire, but the alliance has publicly stated that he is ready to help Ukraine defeat Russia,” the media write.

After yesterday's meeting in Ramstein, the American newspaper The New York Times named the reasons why the supply of weapons to Ukraine is slower than expected.

The publication also notes that “promising weapons and supplying them are two different things” .

Other reasons include:

  • The West's reluctance to exhaust keep your arsenal,
  • failure to produce more weapons quickly,
  • logistics difficulties,
  • fears that technology will fall into the hands of Russia,
  • the need to train Ukrainians in the use of new types of weapons,
  • the risk of escalation in the event of strikes against Russia.

Julianne Smith, US Permanent Representative to NATO, also spoke of the difficulties related to the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

“This is an evolving process, it has many components. First, we have to deal with an ever-changing list of requests coming from Kyiv almost daily. We are receiving a flood of requests, we are trying to work with allies to determine who can answer, who is ready to provide what is needed. It's difficult and complex because requests change quickly,” she said.
