A 70-year-old Ternopil, who said he received a call from an unknown person who introduced himself to an employee of the bank's security service, addressed the law enforcement officers. The offender reported that someone was trying to steal money from his card and suggested transferring funds to other accounts to protect them by promising a refund. The pensioner, having entrusted, fulfilled the instruction and lost almost one million hryvnias. Police investigators initiated criminal proceedings under part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Measures are ongoing to search scams.
