The main flagship smartphones of 2024 were compared by autonomy: who won

The author of the YouTube channel TechDroider has conducted a new battery life comparison of the best smartphones as of November 2024. In total, he took six flagship devices of different brands and checked how much each of them would work under the same conditions.

The following models were selected for the test: Xiaomi 15 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, OnePlus 12, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Pixel 9 Pro and last year's Xiaomi 14 Pro. All of them were set to identical settings, including wireless connections and screen brightness.

  • For 3 hours of playing Call of Duty Warzone on high graphics settings, the Xiaomi 15 Pro turned out to be the best, which discharged only on 27%. The degree of heating in him was also lower than in others (38.4°C). The most discharged Galaxy S24 Ultra – by 47% at the strongest heating up to 43.6 °C.

  • In the next test, consisting of three sessions of watching videos on YouTube, the Xiaomi 15 Pro again confirmed its leadership. The least effective were the Samsung S24 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Pro.

  • The final test included surfing in Google Chrome and Safari browsers. The leadership remained with Xiaomi 15 Pro, which, according to the results of 1.5 hours of scrolling through social networks, still had 39% of charge left. But Pixel 9 Pro XL became an outsider.

The final result is as follows:

  • Xiaomi 15 Pro – 12 hours and 23 minutes of work on one charge;
  • iPhone 16 Pro Max – 11 hours 16 minutes;
  • OnePlus 12 – 10 hours 46 minutes;
  • Galaxy S24 Ultra – 10 hours 23 minutes;
  • Xiaomi 14 Pro – 10 hours and 8 minutes;
  • Pixel 9 Pro – 9 hours 59 minutes.

As you know, Xiaomi 15 Pro received a significant battery with a capacity of 6100 mAh, which is significantly more compared to 4880 mAh in Xiaomi 14 Pro and 4441 mAh in iPhone 16 Pro Max .

Experts note that more and more smartphones with batteries of 6000 mAh and more are appearing on the market. And one of the future Xiaomi phones will be equipped with a 7500 mAh battery and 100 W fast charging. Usually, batteries with this capacity are used for entry-level tablets.
