BC Green Party Leader Sonia Furstenau says she will run in Victoria-Beacon Hill after representing the Cowichan Valley since 2017.

She says her move to Victoria is a homecoming after spending two decades there, including studying at university and raising her first son.

The Victoria-Beacon Hill riding is currently represented by NDP Minister of Children and Family Development Grace Lore, who won the 2020 election with 54% of the vote.

The 2024 election will be the first to be held under the new boundaries of the Cowichan Valley riding, with some of its eastern communities now in another riding.

British Columbians will be called to vote on October 19.
