The match in Uničov was decided by Jan David with a single goal in the 28th minute. The Karvin first league newcomer lost the sixth of the last seven competitive matches and did not go past the second round of the cup for the first time since the 2012/13 season.

On the contrary, another first league team Hradec Králové managed the shootout in Soběslav and won 4:2. Ondřej Šašinka scored two goals against the division rival, while Lukáš Čmelík, a fresh signing from České Budějovice, scored on his debut for “Votroky”.

The Slezans in the changed line-up struggled with the destructive outsider from the start. The home team opened the scoring after a standard situation and a finish by the uncovered defender David. The Karvin family did not recover even after changing sides. Although they created a few chances, they did not get into more consistent pressure, moreover, Uničov's players also threatened several times. The guests lost their fifth competitive game in a row.

“It's a shame, you can't call it anything else. It's alarming that we weren't even a better team. The players who got a chance didn't appreciate it. We'll thoroughly evaluate everything and We're definitely not going to get over it just like that,” the Karvin website quoted coach Tomáš Hejdušek, who is officially listed as an assistant due to the lack of a license.

Hradec Králové started well. In the 15th minute, Harazim opened the scoring, and after a quarter of an hour, Šašinka increased the score. However, the home team returned to the game with a penalty converted by Vítovce in the first half, and Dumbrovský even equalized in the 55th minute. However, the favored guests looked after the end and did not allow embarrassment. In the 77th minute, Slovák Čmelík made a breakthrough and three minutes before the end added Hradec Šašinka's safety.
