The libel suit star of “Pirates of the Caribbean” johnny Depp against the tabloid The Sun hanging in the balance after a judge ruled that the actor violated a court order.
As the BBC reports, this decision followed an attempt by the publisher of the tabloid, News Group Newspapers, to close the case last week. Lawyers for NGN argued that Depp has violated a court order by not providing texts relating to his alleged drug use.
Monday, June 29, the judge ruled in favor of NGN, but decided not to close the case “at this stage”.
Depp has filed a lawsuit against News Group Newspapers and Executive editor of the Sun Dan Wootton for the article, published in April 2018. Material related to allegations of domestic violence made against the actor and his ex-wife, actress amber heard.
Legal team NGN noted that Depp was a serious violation of the court decision, without giving them the correspondence with his assistant.
Messages sent in late February and early March 2015, demonstrate that the star of “Pirates of the Caribbean” tried to get drugs during the stay in Australia along with Hurd, before, when, presumably, and there was domestic violence.
