(Winnipeg) Nikolaj Ehlers netted the eventual deciding goal and the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Calgary Flames 3-2 on Tuesday night.
Trevor Lewis and Derek Forbort scored the other Jets goals (6-3-1). Matthew Tkachuk scored both goals for the Flames (4-4-1).
Both teams trusted their reserve goaltender the day after the Flames’ 4-3 shootout victory.
Laurent Brossoit blocked 29 of 31 shots the Flames aimed at him and he earned his second win of the season. At the other end, David Rittich made 25 saves.
For a second game in a row, the Jets held a two-goal lead after 20 minutes. This time, they managed to protect her, unlike Monday.
Both teams combined their efforts to score three goals in an interval of 65 seconds in the first period.
