The iPhone 5s smartphone is already completely obsolete, and the iPod Touch 6 has become a “vintage” device

Apple has made three changes to its list of vintage and obsolete products for the iPhone 5s, sixth-generation iPod touch, and older iMac models.

First of all, Apple now considers the iPhone 5s "obsolete" by the product, meaning that stores and authorized service providers no longer offer repair or other hardware service for this device. According to the company, it considers a product to be “obsolete” if it has been seven years since it last sold it.

Apple released the iPhone 5s in September 2013, the key feature of which was the Touch ID fingerprint sensor built into the Home button. The device also featured an A7 chip, which became Apple's first iPhone chip with 64-bit architecture.

Other devices – The sixth-generation iPod touch and the late 2015 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display now belong to the “vintage” category. products, as more than five years have passed since the sale of these products was discontinued. Apple stores and authorized service centers can continue to repair vintage products for another two years, but only if the necessary parts remain in stock.

The sixth generation iPod touch was released in 2015 and became the last model of the device. Apple has discontinued the iPod touch in 2022.
