Smartphone iPhone 16 will get a new Face ID: what will change

Taiwanese industry publication DigiTimes reports that the upcoming smartphones of the iPhone 16 series will receive some changes in the design of the Face ID module.

Sources in the chain sources report that Apple planned to implement this year's under-display Face ID scanner until the last moment, but its partners did not have time to prepare the necessary sensors. However, DigiTimes assures that the company has other plans to improve Face ID in iPhone 16 models.

It is likely that Apple will use new sensors that will work more accurately and faster than in previous smartphones. It is worth noting that engineers from Cupertino regularly make changes to the internal components of new generations of iPhones, but this does not always lead to the appearance of new functions or other obvious advantages for buyers.

Most likely, the presentation of iPhone 16 will take place at the beginning September, and we will learn details about the changes in Face ID a little later after disassembly from iFixit.
