On July 26, the International Olympic Committee will not send Russia and Belarus an invitation to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This was reported by the IOC press service.

" Invitations to 203 national Olympic committees that have the right to participate will be sent on July 26, 2023. This will not apply to NOCs of Russia and Belarus", – the statement says.

It is noted that this decision was made in connection with the sanctions imposed by the IOC on Russian and Belarusian sports due to the invasion of Ukraine. Also, the IOC will not send an invitation to the NOC of Guatemala, which is currently banned from participating in the Olympic Games. athletes from Russia and Belarus to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.

However, earlier the president of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach  said that he would like to see participants from all countries, including Russia and Belarus, at the 2024 Olympics .
