The mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) went to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP).

This was announced on Twitter on the morning of August 29 by IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi.

"This day has come– the IAEA mission is now on its way to support and assist the Zaporozhye NPP”, – wrote Rafael Mariano Grossi.

According to him, representatives of the agency must ensure the safety of the largest nuclear facility in Ukraine and Europe.

“I am proud to be leading this mission”, &ndash ; added the IAEA director general.

According to The New York Times, the IAEA mission, in addition to the head of the agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi, included 13 more experts from mostly neutral countries.

The representatives of the IAEA received security guarantees for the mission's visit to the Russian-occupied Zaporozhye NPP on August 26.
