Sumshchyna is the most mined region of Ukraine. Minister of Internal Affairs Denys Monastyrsky announced this on the air of the national telethon.

Unfortunately, a lot of territory is now mined. Sumy region, probably, most of the de-occupied territories remain mined. More than 47% of the territory of the Sumy region is mined.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs added that due to the large forested area, mined “islands” remain, where you can’t go in.

Yes, and the 20-kilometer distance from the state border remains mined with mines and shells. Because rescuers cannot get there.

< em>Today we saw how the water space is cleared – hundreds of shells were seized from the lake. This indicates that there is a lot of work to be done. The number of pyrotechnicians and mine-clearing equipment in Ukraine should definitely be increased.

The Minister also spoke about the danger from mine-petals, which are used by Russians, including in the Sumy region.
