Ángel Cayetano arrived at Universitario de Deportes as one of the reinforcements for the current season. But, after a few months, the midfielder reached an agreement to leave the institution. Hours after the announcement by the merengues, the player also wanted to say goodbye through a publication.
“I do not like goodbyes. But it is time to give thanks to my family for always supporting me, to my teammates for, in adverse moments, standing up and going to the front”, the footballer began on Instagram in relation to the brief passage with the jersey of the student games in which he played 18 games.
Immediately, Cayetano regretted not achieving the objectives set, but highlighted the attitude shown. “A beautiful experience, it was a hard road where the expected results were not given, but as it is not always the result, but with the faith and hope with which things are faced, facing up and going forward”, he stated.
At the closing, the former Danubio showed gratitude to the cream entity for the opportunity to wear one of the most important jackets in the local soccer. “Thanks to the biggest club in Peru for letting me fight and represent the institution. Thanks to all the people who work at the club, they are very special. And give it U!”, he closed it.
The Uruguayan leaves the merengue store after playing a total of 16 games in League 1: 1,257 minutes and one goal. He was also 180′ against Barcelona from Ecuador in Phase 2 of the Copa Libertadores.

The departure of Cayetano
This Friday, at a press conference, coach Carlos Compagnucci revealed that the departure of the 'Charrúa' midfielder was resolved by him. Likewise, the DT of Universitario highlighted the position shown by the 31-year-old athlete, despite the decision made by the technical command.
“Angel's decision was mine. During the days that he worked he was a hundred percent professional, we have used him. I have nothing to reproach him for. I was looking for other characteristics in the midfield position, apart from having players in that position they could solve the issue for me, in addition to the arrival of Guivin. I told him I wasn't going to be able to give him minutes”, he said.
