The foldable iPhone smartphone will surprise fans with an unusual screen

Most of today's foldable phones have a design that folds inwards, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. However, analyst Jeff Pu suggests that Apple may choose a different approach for its first foldable iPhone . According to Gizmochina, the upcoming iPhone Fold, as it is called online, will feature a 7.9-inch OLED display that will fold outwards, similar to the Huawei Mate Xs 2 model.

Huawei was one of the first companies to , which released a smart phone with an innovative rounded display. However, since then, the company has changed the design of complex devices to a book format with two displays — one on the "cover" and one inside. The change is likely due to concerns about the durability of the screen, as the external display will not be protected when folded. This means that users will have to handle such devices with extreme care.

However, the fold-out design has its advantages. Since it requires only one large panel that can be used both folded and unfolded, the device becomes thinner and lighter. And there is no need to install a second display in it.

The design that folds out gives the phone a sophisticated look and allows you to use the main camera even for selfies, regardless of whether the device is folded or not.

< Analyst Pu suggests that the launch of the iPhone Fold will take place in 2026, around the same time as the iPhone 18. In addition to the folding iPhone, the release of a MacBook with a folding display is expected. The device will have a 20.3-inch display. According to some insiders, its mass production could be launched by the end of 2025. Others say it will happen no earlier than 2027.
