The first foldable smartphone iPhone may get an under-screen camera

Network sources claim that Apple is planning to use an under-screen camera in its first foldable mobile device.

Initially, this innovation was expected to appear in iPhone 17, however, Cupertino decided to use under-screen cameras in more expensive devices.

According to the Korean publication The Elec, Apple is now waiting for its two main suppliers — Samsung and LG — will create appropriate technical solutions. The existing sub-screen cameras do not suit Apple in a number of parameters. Samsung and LG are taking different approaches to the problem: Samsung is working with Canadian company OTI Lumionics, while LG is developing its own technology. Only time will tell who will create an underscreen camera that satisfies Apple faster.
