A sign of the fog in which the world of cinema is navigating in the midst of a pandemic, the highly anticipated film “Aline” by and with the French Valérie Lemercier, inspired by the life of Celine Dion, saw its release postponed for nearly a year on Tuesday, until November 2021.
The film loosely based on the life of the Canadian songwriter was originally scheduled for release in November 2020.
Cinemas being closed in France, like other cultural places, since the start of the second confinement at the end of October, this date could not be maintained.
Distributor Gaumont was forced to revise its schedule on several occasions. The last scheduled date was February 17.
But many actors in the world of cinema no longer even dare to bet on a reopening date, while dozens of feature films ready to be released in theaters pile up and shootings continue.
