< p>The European Union has extended sanctions to Belarus for circumventing the restrictions introduced against Russia. This follows from the statement of the European Commission.
A ban on the export to Belarus of "sensitive" goods and technologies that contribute to the military improvement of the country is introduced.
Export to the Republic of Lukashenko is prohibited " “firearms and ammunition, as well as goods and technologies suitable for use in the aviation and space industries”.
Sanctions are related to the involvement of Belarus in Russian aggression against Ukraine. Restrictions are being introduced to prevent the circumvention of sanctions against Russia through the republic.
BAGNET reminds that in June, as part of the 11th package of EU sanctions, a ban on supplies to the Russian Federation was introduced. weapons, restrictions on the transit through the country of “sensitive categories” of goods, including aviation technologies, were extended. The same package includes a mechanism for combating third countries to combat sanctions evasion.
In July 2023, it was reported that the EU agreed on a list of restrictions that mirrors the sanctions against Russia. Since October 2020, the EU has gradually introduced sanctions against Belarus.
