Russian oligarchs and institutions have lost access to over 12.5 billion euros (about $13 billion) worth of luxury yachts, helicopters, paintings, real estate and other assets as a result of EU sanctions.

According to the German publication DW, this was stated by the official representative of the European Commission for Justice, Christian Wiegand.

According to him, the amount of frozen assets of Russian oligarchs almost doubled from 6.7 billion euros in April to more than 12 .5 billion euros.

He attributed such a sharp increase in frozen assets to the fact that in recent weeks many objects belonging to Russian oligarchs, especially in Germany, have been identified and blocked.
