'The Eternals' star Brian Tyree Henry to star in Ridley Scott's ambitious new series

Legendary director Ridley Scott (Alien, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Blade Runner) is preparing an ambitious new Apple TV+ series, Sinking Spring. Actor Brian Tyree Henry (Fastos from The Eternals) will play the main role in the new project. The series will be an adaptation of the book Drug Thief by Dennis Tafoi.

Eight-episode series will tell about friends from Philadelphia and criminals who pretend to be agents of drug control to rob one of the houses in the countryside. Gradually, they find themselves in a large drug trafficking system on the east coast.

Peter Craig is working on adapting the original source (“Batman”, “Top Gun: Maverick”). Dennis Tafoya is acting as a project consultant. Ridley Scott is the executive producer of Scott Free Productions along with David W. Zucker, Jordan Sheen and Clayton Krueger.

The series' premiere date has yet to be announced.

As a reminder, 83-year-old director Ridley Scott shared plans to start filming a series based on the Blade Runner movie.
