Estonian defense company Frankenburg Technologies announced plans to start production of anti-drone systems in Ukraine. This is another step in strengthening defense cooperation between Ukraine and European countries, aimed at strengthening protection against drone attacks. This is reported by Bloomberg.
Frankenburg Technologies was founded in January 2024 with the participation of leading experts from the Estonian defense and technology industry. The mission of the company – to provide the free world with the technology necessary to win modern wars. The main focus – development of missile systems, which should be 10 times more affordable and produced much faster than modern analogues.
One of the company's consultants was Martin Herem, the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Estonia. At the same time, the strategic investor of the project is Milrem Robotics CEO Kuldar Vaarsi.
Taavi Madiberk, co-founder and CEO of Skeleton Technologies, is also part of the Frankenburg Technologies team. Skeleton Technologies specializes in the production of supercapacitors and cooperates with Siemens.

His appointment is an indicator that Frankenburg Technologies aims to rapidly expand production in Ukraine.
As Bloomberg notes, this agreement highlights the growing interest of European defense companies in opening their own production facilities on Ukrainian territory.
< p>Recall that in March 2024, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, announced that the country had signed five contracts with foreign defense companies to create joint ventures. Ukraine plans to conclude dozens more such agreements in the near future.
The Rheinmetall company previously announced its plans to build factories for the production of ammunition and air defense systems in Ukraine. The first workshop for the repair and production of armored vehicles with the participation of this company is already operating.
In addition, the French-German company KNDS, which produces Caesar artillery installations, also plans to open its enterprise in Ukraine. At the same time, the Turkish company Baykar is actively building a plant near Kyiv, which will produce TB2 and TB3 drones.
