One of the most famous sights in France , the Eiffel Tower, was evacuated due to the threat of an explosion. BFM-TV reported this.
On Saturday, August 12, three levels of the Eiffel Tower, as well as the space near it, were evacuated due to a detected threat of an explosion, the police reported.
Demining is carried out at the scene. For security reasons, the monument is closed to visitors.
The evacuation began around noon and was carried out as a preventive measure. According to information from a police source, this procedure is standard for such situations, but at the same time it is quite rare.
At this time it is not known who sent the message about the possible threat of an explosion.
