The developer has integrated a marriage proposal into his upcoming game

Game developer Shane Canning proposed to his girlfriend using his own unfinished game. He approached the matter very creatively, integrating the corresponding character movements into the gameplay. A video of the reaction can already be viewed online.

How it was

Shane Canning is working on the Japanese game KEMURI from independent studio UNSEEN. The project is still in the early stages of development, and it was this fact that the developer decided to use to invite his partner to the office, reports 24 Kanal with reference to Dexerto.

The idea was to invite a girl to the studio for a supposedly independent assessment of the gameplay. Canning designed the area, placed NPCs in places and organized the perfect offer with the help of characters.

A girl named Makiko agreed to record her reaction on camera, supposedly so that the developers would understand what emotions the game demo evoked. She began to control her character, explore the area and soon came across a key NPC who literally changed her life.

Approaching one of the characters and starting to interact with him, the virtual model performed a movement similar to throwing something directly into the screen. At this moment, Shane Canning “caught” it in real life in front of the monitor. Opening his hand, he showed Makiko his engagement ring and confessed his love, and immediately after that he proposed marriage.

“Will you marry me?” – Canning asked at this moment in front of the entire studio.

“Of course!” – Makiko replied as fireworks began to explode on the in-game screen.

The studio CEO later said: “Shane worked on it, so he came home late.” Apparently the effort paid off: the couple is now engaged and set to get married.
