The Czech Republic has considered over 80 cases of support for Russia's war against Ukraine in a year

During 2024, the Czech police considered over 80 cases of people who supported Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

This is reported by Radio Prague International with reference to data from the country's Supreme State Prosecutor's Office, reports “European Truth”.

As the Czech broadcaster informed, the country's prosecutor's office recorded 42 guilty verdicts, most of which resulted in fines or suspended sentences.

The largest number of verdicts was handed down in Prague, Plzeň and Beroun.

It is noted that the most common offenses remain pro-Russian graffiti and online activity. Cases of support for the conflict in Gaza are also being investigated, although the number of trials is lower.

Cases were opened under the sections of the Czech Criminal Code on approval of a crime (Article 365) and denial, doubt, approval and justification of genocide (Article 405).

Last year, a police officer caused a stir in Vienna, Austria, when he patrolled on Christmas Day wearing a helmet with the letter “Z”, which forced the city police to provide an explanation.

In April, the Czech police investigated a man who walked down the street of the city of Pardubice wearing clothes with a symbol of Russian aggression.
